Nomination deadline is tomorrow

Deadline for the EGU medal nominations is tomorrow – June 15. I sincerely hope that many of you have sent in their nominations – I have sent my two nominations for two successful, bright and gorgeous female scientists a few days ago already, together with support letters from several colleagues. And now I am hoping, hoping, hoping that my two secret candidates will make the race and if not, then EGU will receive even more medal nominations for female scientists next year!

Last week I attended the final meeting of the RESET network at the British Museum in London. Two days of interesting talks by invited speakers and RESET participants about cryptotephra, linking diverse marine, terrestrial and ice core records, and the fate of the Neanderthals. I greatly enjoyed all the excellent talks, but was most happy to see so many brilliant young women giving talks!
